Nora Isabel is born in Witten, an university city on the banks of river Ruhr in the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Her musical education started at the age of seven with first violin-lessons.

 

The last three years she studied with Prof. Andreas Krecher in Düsseldorf. Her second instrument is the piano, on which she has been instructed by Ida Kubelke. Nora Isabel also took lessons in musicianship with her piano-teacher. After her year at The City of Edinburgh Music School she continues her studies at the Robert Schumann University of Music, Düsseldorf, as a junior student.

 

Nora Isabel early tried her skills in Chamber Music and is member of a string quartet since 2002. Three years later she became primaria of the 'Witten String Quartet'. The four young people have won several first prices and also took part twice at the national competition 'Jugend musiziert'. Engaged by NRW State Government, they had gigs in 2008 during the International Metropolis-Conference and the Award of the Rescue-Medal by the Prime-Minister. 2009 the Quartet had its first own Concert-Tour to Portugal. In 2011 she had her debut as a soloist, playing Mendelssohns Violin-Concerto with New Philharmony of North Rhine-Westphalia at Tonhalle Düsseldorf, convincing an audience of 900 people.

 

Nora Isabel is leader of 'LJO - Landesjugendorchester NRW', State Youth Orchestra of North Rhine-Westphalia. Within 'JKPh - Junge Kammerphilharmonie NRW', Young Chamber-Philharmony of North Rhine-Westphalia, she visited the 2008 festival 'Musique en Côte de Nacre' in France and also had some concerts within the 'JSO - Jugendsinfonieorchester der Tonhalle Düsseldorf', Youth Orchestra of the concert hall in NRW-Capital Düsseldorf. As a member of ESSO - Edinburgh Secondary Schools Orchestra she had her debut at the NAYO-Festival 2009 in Edinburgh and soon was made its leader. The 2010 Spring-Concerts she played within EYO - Edinburgh Youth Orchestra, conducted by Garry Walker.

 

In 2010 she also joined NYOS - National Youth Orchestra of Scotland for its Summer-Tour. Conducted by Diego Masson, there have been concerts in Scotland, Ulster and the Irish Republik. With LJO NRW she had international tours to Poland, China, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegowina, as well as Portugal. About 130 concerts she played within these high-level youth orchestras, most of them in other countries. There have been several concerts in Paris, its surrounding and the Normandie. at last at a Festival in the Provence. The LJO NRW is conducted by Prof. Hubert Buchberger, but also by renowned guest-conductors as Prof. Gerd Albrecht, Nicholas Burton-Page, GMD Hermann Bäumer and others. In 2011 she became a member of OFJ - The National Youth Orchestra of France. In two projects this Orchestra, conducted by Dennis Russell Davies, had concert highlights at the Young Euro Classic Festival in Berlin and at Salle Pleyel in Paris.

 

Besides several projects like Mozarts 'Magic flute' for an audience of children at the Cologne Opera-House and the much attented performances of Olivier Messians 'La Transfiguration de notre Seigneur Jésus Christus' with more than 215 contributors referring to the 100st birthday of the composer, which have been published on air and on DVD, she took also part at cross-over projects with the Band 'Farfarello', the Youth Jazz Orchestra NRW and the Musicians of 'K.R.A.S.S.'.

 

Many other concerts of LJO NRW have been recorded and broadcasted by WDR Radio, also by Radio and TV-stations in other countries, since Nora Isabel became a member of this Orchestra in 2005.

 

After a year of excellent musical experience in Scotland she joined several German orchestras and played recitals both as a soloist and with the Witten String Quartet, took a tour to China with the ODE - Orchester Deutsche Einheit, an orchestra of young musicians from all over Germany.
